These cereals have decided to grace our presence once again... I can't say I ate a lot of it when I was a kid, but every year when I see them out on the shelves I'm tempted even though I'm also not much of a cereal eater.
But, when General Mills announced they were bringing back the Frute Brute and Yummy Mummy for this Halloween Season I started to scour the shelves for a box. Often our local grocers only buy a very limited number of stuff like this, and once it's gone, sadly it's gone.
I first scored a box of Yummy Mummy which made it's original debut back in 1987 but had a short life span being discontinued in 1993. And I have to ask.. WHY General Mills... this stuff is indeed yummy.
A couple days after finishing my box of Yummy Mummy (new packaging) I discovered they also did a "throw back" version of the box for us collectors in the world. I resisted buying ALL of them... But I did get my two favorites - and promptly kept the boxes!
Having a severe allergy to Berries of all shapes, sizes and flavors, I steered clear of Boo Berry and Frankenberry ... However I doubt that there's any ACTUAL berry in it, It is a very severe allergy, so I pick my battles.
Here is the Frute Brute - and I'm a little dissapointed that it looks pretty much identical toYummy Mummy. I enjoyed the orange flavor of YM as opposed to the cherry flavor of FB. But, your mileage may very.
Even though I didn't purchase them, I have a great respect for the art on their boxes.
I hate to say it - but Chocolate cereal is just wrong. Sorry Count.
Here's the full display - Incredible. Thanks General Mills!

Cool stuff! I like all of the flavors. Boo Berry has long by my favorite, but Chocula is growing on me. I just finished a box of Frute Brute this morning! :)
