I touched on "Sexy Costumes" a little last year when I discovered that they make a Sexy Big Bird and Sexy Cookie Monster Costume... but Caffeinated Joe Reminded me of the absurdity of it all with his post about sexy versions of horror villians. Go read that post... Seriously, Sexy Leatherface? Now I've seen it all! I know, I know... I've been in college, and I get the appeal of looking sexy without judgement from your peers, but I have never fallen victim to one of these crazy stupid costumes, mostly (I'll admit) because the sexy ones weren't built for big girls, and when I was in the market to wear one, I was a big girl! Maybe that's where the eye rolling comes into place.
None the less, every time I see a sexy costume or the mention of one, I think back to Mean Girls... If you've never seen this video, please watch it - it totally describes the Sexy costume thing in perfection.

ReplyDeleteSexy Box of Crayons... WTF!? And Sexy Candy Corn? I know what you mean! This crap is just so out of control! I saw a pair of sequin hot pants in the costume aisle, no costume definition, just sequin shorts... guess they're a universal piece of costumery!
